Vehicle Crashes into Home following Chase in Brownsville

BROWNSVILLE – A police chase ended with a vehicle slamming into a home Monday night.

The crash happened at 17th Street and Southmost Blvd around 10:40 p.m.

A Department of Public Safety trooper was flagged down by a convenience store clerk on International and Southmost boulevard.

According to a press release, the trooper observed a truck take off from the store and a chase ensued.

Shortly after, the vehicle crashed into the home and two males and one female inside managed to escape the scene on foot.

Authorities discovered packages of alcohol in the vehicle that were stolen from the store.

DPS located 25-year-old Kirk Mark Pursifull and charged him for theft, public intoxication and for evading arrest.

The female passenger was also located and later released.

Authorities are still searching for the male driver.

No one was injured in the crash.
