Weslaco Church Acting as Makeshift Shelter

WESLACO – At least 160 mid-Rio Grande Valley evacuees are temporarily staying at a church for shelter.

Those rescued and taken to Sam Houston Elementary have also been moved to First Baptist Church in Weslaco.

Volunteers have been accepting flood victims since crews are out rescuing others still stranded.

Donations are being accepted at 600 South Kansas Ave. in Weslaco.
