WESLACO – The Weslaco Police Department is advising residents to remember to take safety precautions after 9:00 p.m.

In an effort to ensure crime prevention, Weslaco police launched their 'Lock It Down Weslaco' safety initiative.

The initiative is to remind residents to remove valuables in vehicles, lock car doors, close garage doors, and turn porch lights on at night.

Weslaco police say, residents must work together to reduce the opportunity for a crime to occur.
