WESLACO – A group of Winter Texans did their part to give warm coats to those in need as part of Channel 5’s Tim’s Coats.

Residents at the El Valle Del Sol retirement community donated 1,030 coats.

CHANNEL 5 Chief Meteorologist Tim Smith and a representative from the Southwest Dry Cleaners Association were on hand to receive the coats Friday morning.

The coats will be taken to different dry cleaners throughout the Valley to be cleaned.
