BROWNSVILLE – She fled El Salvador after being targeted for her sexual orientation.

After crossing the border illegally with her partner, they were separated. We’ll refer to her as “Andy” for this report.

Andy’s partner was let go by immigration officials and is now living in the United States.

However, she fell under the Migrant Protection Protocol program, the Remain in Mexico rule.
