HIDALGO – A 23-year-old woman was arrested for trying to smuggle cocaine into the U.S.

Authorities said she had the drugs concealed under her clothing.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Hidalgo International Bridge said the woman was entering as a pedestrian when they made the bust.

The package weighed more than two and a half pounds and has an estimated street value of nearly $20,000.

The woman was turned over to Homeland Security Investigations officers.
