Runoff Scheduled for May 27

WESLACO - Twenty primary races will be decided during runoff elections on May 27. The races included are those where none of the candidates got more than 50 percent of the vote.

The two candidates with the most votes in the primary election will head to a runoff. The candidates included in the runoffs are still unofficial, since the votes haven't been canvassed.

The following is a list of those races:

The last day to register to vote for the runoff is April 28. Texas Secretary of State Nandita Berry explained, "If you voted in a party primary or participated in a convention, you can only vote in that same party's runoff. ... If you did not vote in the March 4 Primary, you may still vote and can vote in the runoff election for either party."
