Driver in Donna Fatal Crash Due in Court

DONNA – A man charged with intoxication manslaughter is due in court Wednesday for a pre-trial hearing.
Investigators said Benny Garcia was behind the wheel when he lost control of his car, drove into a ditch and hit a utility pole.
The crash happened in Donna near the intersection of Victoria Road and Casares Street in July of last year.
Delia Aurora Avitia, 41, of Edinburg, was a passenger in the car. She was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
Garcia is currently out on bond.
