E-Verify System Unavailable amid Gov't Shutdown

WESLACO – A program used to verify an employee’s eligibility to work in the U.S. isn’t available during the partial government shutdown.

E-verify is a system employers use to verify an applicant’s identity.

For some employers, it’s voluntary, but for others it’s mandatory.

Policies have been implemented to help minimize the impact of this.
