Emergency Preparation Supplies Tax-Free ahead of Hurricane Season

WESLACO – Emergency preparation supplies will be tax free ahead of the upcoming hurricane season.
The sales tax holiday will take place Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28.
Supplies used for emergency preparation could qualify for a tax exemption if purchased at a certain price.
There is no limit on the number of qualifying items you can purchase.
Some of the items that will be tax free include portable generators, emergency ladders, hurricane shutters, first aid kits, batteries, radios, smoke detectors and tarps.
