FEMA Warning Valley Flood Victims of Imposter Posing as Federal Employees

SANTA ROSA – Disaster relief is still ongoing and now with FEMA in the Rio Grande Valley, the agency is warning of the possibility of imposters.
It’s happened all over the nation after a natural disaster and FEMA representatives don’t want people in the Valley to fall victim to people posing as federal employees.
Survivors should keep in mind, federal and state workers never ask for or accept money.
They also always carry official identification badges.
FEMA spokesperson Maria Padron says your registration number is also important.
Padron says a FEMA employee will never come to your home unannounced or before you register with them.
Fraud cases can be reported to the National Center for Disaster Fraud's hotline at 866-720-5721.
