Local Property Owner Reflects on Experience with Militia Group

BROWNSVILLE – A border militia leader who patrolled New Mexico’s southern border pleaded not guilty in court Monday.
FBI agents and local police arrested Larry Hopkins over the weekend.
He’s reportedly in charge of a group claiming to help out Border Patrol, but the agency says otherwise.
A local property owner who allowed a militia group to patrol his land five years ago is speaking out.
Border resident Rusty Monsees says he’s seen people and drugs constantly flowing in so he welcomes all the help.
In 2014, militia groups camped on his land- they called it ‘camp lone star’.
"Ultimately right before they got arrested they fessed up to the fact that they were felons,” explains Monsees.
