Man Accused of Shooting Trooper Sanchez Facing Charges

EDINBURG - The man accused of shooting DPS Trooper Moises Sanchez remains jailed.

Victor Godinez is being held on a 3 million dollar bond.

He's currently facing three counts of attempted capital murder of a peace officer.

The Hidalgo county District Attorney said he will upgrade one of those charges to capital murder of a peace officer.

Godinez is expected to appear for a pre-trial hearing on October 24.
