Migrant Care Reimbursement Granted to 3 Valley Charities

WESLACO – Humanitarian aid reimbursements for three Rio Grande Valley entities, the payback for migrant care.

More than $712,000 is going back in the pockets of Catholic Charities, The Salvation Army and United Way of South Texas.

The city of McAllen is not listed, but city officials did apply for payback. CHANNEL 5 NEWS is told applications are still pending.

McAllen city leaders have said they spent $160,000 on migrant care during the first six months of the year.
