Mother Concerned After Car was Broken Into at San Benito School

SAN BENITO – A thief at a San Benito elementary school stole more than a purse full of credit cards and IDs from Roxanne Hurtado Monday night: he took her sense of security.

"I did feel violated and upset, because yes I made the mistake of leaving my purse in the car, but it's my area, it's my space and for him to have gotten into my space it's just infuriating," says Hurtado.

The crime was captured in surveillance video.

Hurtado thought Dr. Cash Elementary School's packed parking lot was the least likely spot her car would be broken into.

San Benito CISD police are now being assisted by city police to find the man responsible.

Police are asking anyone with information to please contact them.
