EDINBURG – A small card with a big impact. A Hidalgo County resident is asking questions after she received a voter registration card for a deceased relative.
Even though her death was reported to the state 16 years ago, word didn’t make it back from Austin to Edinburg.
Elections administrators say, by now, everyone who’s registered to vote should have received their voter registration card in their mailbox.
Hidalgo County Elections Administrator Yvonne Ramon explained what people can do if they didn’t receive a card or if they received one that is not theirs.
She also stressed to make sure all the information on your voter card is correct and, when voting, to have a valid form of identification.
