Researchers Tracking Green Jays for Conservation Plan

WESLACO – State wildlife researchers are working to learn more about a bird that brings tourists and pumps money into the Rio Grande Valley’s economy.
Radios will be placed on Green Jays to figure out what they’re thinking and where they’re going.
This is an effort to preserve the places the Green Jay uses.
KRGV’s Christian von Preysing explains a team of scientists set up the traps to catch this particular bird.
The goal is to eventually inform the cities in the Valley on what they can do to preserve the bird’s habitat.
