Teens Could Face Serious Consequences When Playing Online Games

SAN JUAN – Some local teenagers are ending up in court because of online video games.

As intensity and rage builds up between users on online games, so can threats.

“A lot of times parents do not keep an eye out on their kids when it comes to online threats. They think the kid himself will solve that problem but unfortunately it don't go that way and sometimes those threats can become very, very concerning,” explains a local parent of five children, Sergio Zambram.

On Wednesday, a student at a middle school in San Juan received an online threat through an online game system.

A PSJA spokesman says the person responsible was a fellow Austin Middle School student; the student was taken into custody and will not be allowed to return to the campus.

KRGV’s Christian Colón spoke with Justice of the Peace Jaime Jerry Munoz about the consequences these teens can face.
