Valley Flood Victims Struggling with Expenses during Holidays

SANTA ROSA – It’s been a tough Christmas for many who are still paying for damage from this year’s June floods.
The roads in Santa Rosa right now are clear and dry, but the damage is done. The marks left over the walls. The losses inside homes and out.
Bertha Vuittonet, a mother, grandmother and great grandmother says they’ve only started to fully learn about the geography of the area. It made their neighborhood a funnel for floodwater in Cameron County this past summer.
She says a $6,000 grant from FEMA helped them replace a fridge and furniture, and will go towards the mobile home. Other expenses are on hold.
