Weslaco Man Seeks Full Refund for Years of Double Trash Payments

WESLACO – Just three weeks ago, when a Weslaco man paid his utility bill he finally asked why he was paying so much.
David Montemayor found out he’s been being charged for an extra trash can for more than eight years; all these years without any idea.
Each trash can provided by the city is about $15.
It doesn’t seem much, but that additional charge for 12 months, over eight years adds up.
When he tried to get his money back, the city told him they would be able to refund maybe two years worth.
