Boca Chica Homeowners Fear SpaceX Will Force Eminent Domain

BOCA CHICA VILLAGE – Some homes in Boca Chica Village are boarded up, empty and some sold to SpaceX.
Other homeowners are lacing up.
Rayford Pointer is trying to find a fair value for his home; he receives letters from SpaceX offering him buyouts three times more than the appraised value.
Pointer turned down the first offer, adding he wants more time to use his own appraiser.
He worries that ultimately eminent domain could force him out.
“I asked Elon Musk in our audience with him during our talk on Saturday, 'do you guys plan on eminent domain us?' and he says ‘I don’t want to do that,’ but that’s not an assurance it isn’t going to happen,” he said.
