Cameron, Hidalgo Counties Team Up to Prevent Drunk Driving

MERCEDES – For the first time, Cameron County and Hidalgo County will team up to prevent drinking and driving.
Both county district attorneys met with law enforcement in Mercedes on Monday.
Cameron County DA Luis Saenz explains the unified task force is a message for the community to discourage drinking and driving.
"In the last week, we have lost three innocent lives to what appears to be drunk drivers," he says.
During last year’s holiday season, Texas Department of Transportation officials say there were more than 2,400 crashes involving drunk drivers.
