At least that's according to an agreement the IRS made with internet tax filing services 18 years ago. Yet, some companies have made that difficult, so now the IRS is rewriting the agreement.
The IRS's new agreement forces tax filing services to make their free file programs actually show up in Google searches.
The personal information collected through online tax services is highly sensitive. It includes your names, addresses and social security numbers.
The IRS urges everyone to be careful, don't file taxes from a website that is unsecure.
