Account Executive

KRGV-TV CHANNEL 5 is seeking a McAllen Area Account Executive to service existing clients and develop new accounts. This dynamic individual will be responsible for all aspects of servicing clients of Channel 5 including new business development, overseeing production of commercials, commercial scheduling, billing and collections

  • Maintain and renew existing accounts
  • Prospect and cultivate new accounts
  • Make appointments and sales calls with new and existing accounts on continuous basis.
  • Build proposals, negotiate contracts, and handle collections with all assigned clients.
  • Interface with all internal departments including, but not limited to, Traffic and Accounting to facilitate all phases of the selling process
  • Work with the Marketing Director to develop and present sales and market research pieces for existing and new accounts
  • Work with the Creative Services Director, Sales Production Photographer, and Sales Production Editor on developing and producing client commercials.
  • Work with the Graphics Designer on developing and producing website, mobile, and app web creative.
  • Work with Sales Assistants to ensure that sales contracts are accurate and verified.
  • Produce a weekly sales report that outlines all sales activity.
  • Become a proficient user of all sales support software, including but not limited to OSI, Scarborough, Ad Connections, Ad Mall, Titan TV, and other software.
  • Attend regularly scheduled weekly sales department meetings and attend station staff meetings when scheduled.
  • Must have a good driving record and reliable transportation. Company requires insurance coverage and valid driver's license.

Part-Time & Full Time News Video Photographer

The primary duty of this job is to gather ENG video in the field, working with reporters and the assignments desk. Experience in all aspects of television news photography, electronic editing equipment, and live microwave trucks. Must have a valid driver's license.


News Reporter/Anchor

Applicants should have significant experience in general assignment reporting, including Live ENG and satellite work. You must be able to develop your own contacts, enterprise good news stories, and respond well to breaking and spot news. Responsibilities include reading news clearly with proper emotion and inflection, understanding and implementing the news philosophy, making promotions and public service announcements, making public appearances, being involved in the community, being a leader and encouraging co-workers.

Outstanding writing skills are required as well as the ability to make good use of graphics and production equipment. Qualifications include a college degree in broadcast journalism or equivalent, at least one to two years' experience anchoring a newscast, able to handle crisis situations and intense deadline pressure.
