KRGV-TV, the ABC affiliate in the beautiful Rio Grande Valley of South Texas, has the following vacancy:  Booking Associate News Producer

We are looking for a motivated individual with a passion for news to assist the Producer with writing, editing of scripts, building graphics, ensuring successful execution of live shots; have the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines; will perform other duties as assigned. 

This position is Full Time

 

Qualifications & Duties: 

- Ability to multitask and work under pressure: This position requires constant communication written and oral on information about guests who are being invited for interview segments "La Entrevista" during our morning and noon newscasts.
- Leadership skills: Individuals must be able to work with little supervision and self-initiative and are required to make contact and book guests for newscasts as well as maintaining the guest calendar and notifying all team members on who the guest is and their information. 
- Excellent communication skills: Must be able to communicate well with team members and community leaders and businesses to contact and find guests for morning and noon newscasts.  Most of these are done through the phone as well as email. 
- Flexibility: While the hours are during the day, there may be situations when the Booking AP will have to work different hours and occasional weekends. 

Requirements :

- Must have had two years of college courses in communication or related field
- Candidate must be reliable, have good people skills, and be available to work any   shift…including nights, weekends or overnight
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is required, both written and oral.  Most guests communicate in English, so fluency in both languages is a must.
- This position will assist the News Producer of the morning news and Noon newscast producer.
