An 18-wheeler lost its load on the eastbound lanes of West Expressway 83 in Weslaco near the International Boulevard off-ramp, leaving debris scattered across the roadway, according to police.

Crews are working to reopen the outer and interior lanes of the expressway, a spokesperson for the Weslaco Police Department said.

Drivers in the area should expect traffic delays, and are being urged to slow down and stay aware of their surroundings. Those who have not yet reached the area should consider taking an alternate route.
