18-year-old male in custody following deadly Pharr shooting, police say
Pharr, TX (KRGV) — An 18-year-old male was arrested Thursday following a shooting that killed one man in a “family-related disturbance,” according to the Pharr Police Department.
Pharr police officers responded to the 1200 block of E. Serenidad Drive around 10:15 a.m. Thursday, where they found an unresponsive 26-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The man was later pronounced dead.
After a brief search, officers found the 18-year-old suspect near E. Trenton Road and Interstate Highway 69C. Police took him into custody without incident.
The suspect is awaiting arraignment, when formal charges will be announced.
Officers did not provide a motive for the deadly shooting or say what the relationship was between the suspect and the victim.
