4 Vehicles, 1 Edinburg Police Unit Involved in Crash Following Pursuit

EDINBURG – A manhunt was underway for a suspect involved in a multi-vehicle crash in Edinburg.

Monte Cristo Road was blocked off at Doolittle Road as police assessed the scene.

Edinburg Assistant Police Chief Oscar Trevino said there were five vehicles involved in the crash, including a police car and a suspect vehicle.

Police were in a pursuit with a felony suspect when the accident happened. The suspect vehicle hit several cars but continued to flee from the scene.

The police officer and one of the drivers involved in the accident are at local hospitals with minor injuries.

The suspect apparently bailed out of the vehicle in San Carlos near Tex-Mex Road and 83rd Street.

DPS said they are searching for the suspect with the assistance of the sheriff’s office. They mentioned it was a U.S. Marshal's case.
