86 In Custody Following Traffic Stop in Willacy Co.
RAYMONDVILLE – Dozens of people suspected of being in the country illegally are in custody Wednesday morning after a tractor-trailer was stopped in Raymondville just after 10 p.m. Tuesday.
The truck was pulled over by Department of Public Safety while traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 77.
According to a U.S. Customs and Border Protection press release, the immigrants were determined to be from Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Mexico and Nicaragua.
Two suspected smugglers were also arrested.
