A local nonprofit is working to get more South Texas voters registered ahead of the midterm elections.

AACT Now is partnering with local businesses to help employees sign up to vote.

"We want to make sure that our residents here in South Texas are represented, that they're actively engaged," executive director Norma Flores Ruiz said.

The group is also asking community members to reach out to 10 people and motivate them to get out and vote.
