Alamo drainage project nears completion after delays
A drainage project along FM 907 in Alamo is nearly complete after more than two years of construction.
The new drainage system is already in operation. Officials say the city had no reported flooding along the road when heavy rain fell last month.
TxDOT crews ran into several delays during construction, including problems with water, gas, and AT&T lines. Those delays pushed back the May 2026 completion date.
“What we're doing right now is just... polishing off the areas, finishing off any concrete, making sure it's clean, and making sure everything is looking nice — including the roadways and the sidewalks,” Alamo Mayor J.R. Garza said.
Officials expect the project to wrap up by next week.
