Fire in Olmito Continues to Burn
OLMITO--A fire that broke out Tuesday in Olmito continued to burn on Sunday.
Brownsville firefighters worked to put out hot spots on Sunday. They poured more than 10,000 gallons of water to extinguish the hot spots. According to firefighters, the heat of the tires caused the flames to re-ignite.
A woman who lives nearby told CHANNEL 5 NEWS she was worried about the fire being so close to her home.
The fire charred more than 300 acres.
