House Fire in Brownsville Deemed Likely Intentional

BROWNSVILLE  – Brownsville fire officials said an abandoned building was likely intentionally set on fire.

Assistant Fire Chief Cesar Pedraza said there was no electricity running to the home located on the corner of 13th and Jackson streets. The fire broke out around Sunday evening.  

Pedraza added the home next to it also suspiciously caught fire several months ago.

According to investigators, someone reported seeing a person leave the area around the time of the fire.

No injuries were reported.

The case remains under investigation.
