BROWNSVILLE – A jury sentenced a man convicted of capital murder to death.

Gustavo Tijerina-Sandoval is accused of fatally shooting off-duty Border Patrol agent Javier Vega Jr. in 2014.

His sentence is not official since he was not present in the courtroom.
