UPDATE (4/24): Robert Barrera was unanimously voted out of his position during a special meeting Monday.

Barrera had been on administrative leave with pay for about a week while the city looked at issues regarding the department.

The city manager recommended the police chief to be let go.

The city of Palmview is looking for a new police chief.

Lt. Gilbert Zamora is currently serving as interim chief.

PALMVIEW – The city of Palmview will host a meeting Monday to discuss future plans for their police chief.

Police Chief Chris Barrera was put on paid administrative leave last week.

The agenda meeting will cover possible action regarding his position.
