Power restored to more than 25,000 Hidalgo County residents
Power has been restored to more than 25,000 Hidalgo County residents following Sunday night's severe weather.
AEP Texas initially reported 11,482 customers were without power, while Magic Valley Electric Co-op reported 16,334 customers were without power.
Power has mostly been restored, but some are still reporting outages.
According to the electric companies' outage maps, AEP Texas is still reporting 1,897 customers are still without power, while Magic Valley is reporting 224 customers are without power.
On Sunday evening, a severe thunderstorm moved through parts of Hidalgo County. According to the First Warn 5 Weather Team, between one and three inches of rain fell and a flood advisory was in effect but has since been lifted.
The storm also produced a lot of thunder and lightning, along with brief very strong winds.
