Preliminary Autopsy Reports on Edinburg Triple Homicide
EDINBURG – CHANNEL FIVE NEWS has obtained new information on the three homicides reported last week in Edinburg.
The bodies of Rebecca Lee Cantu, 19, her mother, Magdalena Andrade-Cantu, 48 and a home health care provider, Aaron Cortez, 30, were discovered in an Edinburg apartment Tuesday, Dec. 10, according to records obtained by CHANNEL 5 NEWS.
The following next two days, autopsies were performed by Dr. Norma Jean Farley.
According to the preliminary autopsy reports, Cortez's death resulted from gunshot wounds. Andrade-Cantu died from stab wounds and her daughter died from a combination of gunshot and stab wounds.
Edinburg Police Department has not released the name of the suspect who committed suicide. The incident is classified as a capital murder. The department has scheduled a press conference on Wednesday to provide further information on the case.
