Raymondville, TX (KRGV) — Rep. Vicente Gonzalez presented Raymondville city leaders with a $965,467 check during a Tuesday ceremony.

"With this nearly $1 million investment into Raymondville, we are creating opportunities to promote a healthier future while advancing economic and community development tied to the city’s parks and recreation system," Gonzalez said.

The money will be used to renovate and improve safety at multiple parks in the city.

The money will support work at Pool Park, Pocket Park and Smiley Face Park as part of the citywide park improvement plan. The project includes new restrooms, exercise stations, nature trails and more parking.

"These improvements consist of walking trails, inclusive playground equipment, lighting, parking and ADA restrooms," Raymondville Mayor Gilbert Gonzales said.
