Rio Grande City, TX (KRGV) — The Rio Grande City Grulla Independent School District will collect winter clothing for children and families in need.

The drive starts Oct. 16, 2026. Organizers are asking for jackets, blankets, scarves, beanies, and mittens.

"[Last year] we had 25 racks filled with clothes and jackets, and we had about 10 tables stacked with all the other stuff, blankets and whatnot,” Rio Grande City Grulla ISD spokesperson Adrian Ozuna said. “So that's why we decided to continue because it was a tremendous success, and we want to make sure that we do the same thing this year.”

This is the second year Rio Grande City Grulla ISD is holding the drive. Anyone with extra items can drop them off at any campus.
