STC offers free CPR classes to Valley residents
Knowing CPR is important, especially during life-threatening emergencies.
South Texas College is offering free CPR classes for community members and students 16 and older. The college added more sessions this fall after demand went up.
"It's a great skill to have in case of an emergency, if somebody nearby knows CPR. It can make a great difference between executing and saving a life," STC Program Coordinator Xenia Munoz said.
Classes run three times a week at locations in McAllen and the West Campus with different options.
Spots are limited to 10 students per class. Registration is required through the college's website.
The classes are being funded by an insurance company. Those who finish the classes will receive an American Heart Association certification.
