UTRGV women's soccer beats Concordia 5-1 on Sunday afternoon to close out non-conference play.

The Vaqueros have never lost to the Tornados and kept that record intact with a dominant home performance on Senior Day where Linnea Eld, Libby Pole, Rosie Train and Erika Parker were recognized before the match.

Londyn Johnson got things started with a cross and finish to give UTRGV a 1-0 lead. Sophomore defender Sienna Church converted a penalty kick to give the Vaqueros the 2-nil advantage heading into halftime.

In the second half, freshman forward Anuhea Aalona added a goal off the left foot to make it 3-0. Natalie Singleton then headed in a goal two minutes later and added another to complete a brace.

"We love our seniors so much and they do so much for us as leaders," Aalona said. "Lin is our captain, she does so much for us and we all look up to them, so to be able to honor them in this way meant a lot to us."

Sophomore midfielder Natalie Singleton said the win sets the right tone heading into conference play.

"This gives us extra oomph and extra positivity to go into conference play on a good note and the vibes are high, so it was a really big win," Singleton said.

UTRGV will hit the road for the next two weeks to open Southland Conference play, starting Thursday against Lamar. First whistle is set for 6:00 p.m. in Beaumont, Texas.
