3 Arrested in Connection with the Death of a Man in Donna
(UPDATE 1/17 – 12:06 p.m.) – Authorities arrested three people in connection with the death of a 22-year-old man.
Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office said three adult men are in custody and are expected to be arraigned at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
DONNA - A 22-year-old is dead after being found stabbed near a Donna residence.
Hidalgo County Sheriff's deputies and Crime Scene Investigators said they arrived at the 6000 block of North Victoria near Donna around 10:00 p.m. Sunday after receiving a report of a stabbing.
They said when they arrived they found a man on the ground with an apparent stab wound. An ambulance arrived and took the victim to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and died.
Investigators told CHANNEL 5 NEWS they are interviewing witnesses and suspects involved in the apparent homicide.
Deputies said it is complicated because the victim may have been stabbed elsewhere and wandered back to the home.
Investigators searched the area to see if they can find anything linked to the stabbing.
A man who owns property next to the scene of the investigation said more patrols are needed in the area.
“Yes, I think there needs to be more surveillance because one does get worried. There should be more surveillance on the police part because they see kids drinking, they should stop them and see what they’re doing,” Ernesto Lugo said.
Anyone with information about the case can contact the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office at 383-8114.
