Since 1967, eight hurricanes have directly or indirectly impacted the Gulf coast. If a hurricane were to threaten the Valley, it's always important to be informed, prepared and ready to evacuate if authorities recommend it or place a mandatory evacuation.
But when will you be asked to evacuate?
One example would be if you live in an area where storm surge would be the biggest threat, or if you live in a flood-prone area.
