Rio Grande City police investigating scam text messages

The Rio Grande City Police Department is alerting residents of text messages impersonating police officers.

The text message claims police officers will be searching homes.

Authorities say their department is not behind the texts.

RGC police is asking people to call them at 956-487-8892 if they receive those messages.
