San Juan Basilica hosting inaugural pet walk and animal blessing

The Basilica of Our Lady San Juan del Valle in San Juan is hosting its first pet walk next month.
The event falls on the 800th anniversary of Saint Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals.
The pet walk is set for Oct. 4 at the basilica, starting around 5 p.m. The blessing of animals follows at 6:30 p.m.
The deadline to register is Sept. 25.
