BROWNSVILLE – The Brownsville Independent School District plans to implement about $1.4 million in security changes in all their schools.

We’re told most of the money will go towards hiring 21 additional police officers for the district.

Veterans and retired police officers are encouraged to apply for those positions.

The district has 38 officers on staff.
