MERCEDES – A Central American woman is worried after her younger sister disappeared.

Norma Hernandez says she and her sister, 18-year-old Nayeli, left Honduras together with hopes of a better life.

On Monday, Nayeli went missing. A family friend called Norma saying they had seen Nayeli walking down the road.

None of Nayeli’s belongings are gone.

Norma doesn’t know why her sister would leave somewhere by herself, she doesn’t know anyone; that makes Norma more concerned.

If you have any information about Nayeli, you’re asked to call Mercedes Police Department at 956-565-3102.
