La Grulla, TX (KRGV) — The La Grulla Volunteer Fire Department is adding new emergency equipment through a $25,000 grant from the Texas Forestry Service.

The department is getting new chainsaws, coolers, and specialized rescue tools to help respond to emergencies. Firefighters say the equipment was needed.

The department says it last got funding support about two years ago. Firefighters are already adding the new equipment to their units.
