DONNA – Donna police are investigating an early morning standoff that ended with several arrests.

Two men and two women were arrested Monday morning in Donna following a two-hour standoff with police.

Around 4:00 a.m. officers received a call of shots fired on the 500 block on Sunset Blvd, about a block west of Business 83, just off Hutto Road.

The victim told police the suspect fired 12 shots at them then barricaded themselves in the home. Ten people were inside the house including children.

Donna police used a loud speaker to communicate with the suspect.

After two hours, the Law Enforcement Regional Response team made entry into the home.

“That’s their specialty. They train for this twice a month. This is one of hundreds of operations they’ve been involved in, so we knew that this was definitely in their element, that’s what they’re here for, that’s what they’re trained for and they did an excellent job,” Donna Police Capt. Rick Suarez said.

No one was hurt.

A CHANNEL 5 NEWS crew on scene in the morning saw a tow truck taking a car away.

The four suspects were taken to the Donna Police Department for further questioning. It isn’t known what charges they’re facing.

We’ll continue to report the latest developments.
