The exit to Northbound Frontage and Spur 56 is closed after a vehicle hit a pedestrian north of Freedom Road, according to the Willacy County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's deputies, Lyford police, the Precinct 4 Constable's Office, Willacy EMS and Texas Department of Public Safety are all on scene.

The sheriff's office is asking drivers to avoid the area.
